Academic Awards Ceremony

We will be holding our annual Academic Awards Ceremony on November 5 at 6:30 p.m.  To earn an Academic Award a student must have taken 6 or more classes and achieved a 3.5 or better GPA with no grades below a "B".  A list of students can be found in the first floor cafeteria and gym. If you think you have earned this award and your name is not listed or your name is spelled incorrectly, please see Ms.Gomez in the main office.
Underclassmen Picture Retakes

Underclassmen picture retakes will be on Friday, November 7.  Students that have not had their picture taken will receive a pass from their first period teacher.  Picture forms are located in the main office.
Parent Coffee: Managing Stress and Anxiety in High School

The School Counseling Office invites all parents to a Parent Coffee on November 12, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in our Large Group Room 2A/2063 on the second floor.  Come listen to counselors' advice and gather available resources to assist your student dealing with school related stress and anxiety.  Please RSVP by November 7 via email to EnglerE@pwcs.edu

OPHS Grad Fair

Attention Seniors and Senior Parents: Herff Jones will be here for the annual Grad Fair on Tuesday, November 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. outside the first floor cafeteria.  Orders for caps, gowns, announcements and other graduation related items can be ordered at this time.  Ordering information will be sent home with Seniors through their English 12 classes in early November.  If your student does not receive a packet, please have them stop by the main office to pick one up.

PSAT Scoring Directions for 9th Graders

All 9th grade student participated in a practice PSAT on October 15th through Revolution Prep,  Click here to view instructions for scoring directions.  Students' Revolution ID is their first and last name (all lower case, ex: sarasmith) and their password is their last name (all lower case).
PWCS Office 365

Check out our PWCS Office 365 link on the left.  Microsoft Office 365 is a cloud-based communication and collaboration tool, hosted by Microsoft and managed by PWCS.  Office 365 will provide the ability for PWCS students (grades 3-12), faculty and staff to email, store files and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in real time from school, work, or home, all within a secure online environment.   All OP freshman and sophomore students received their accounts and training through their English classes.  Our Leadership students will be available to assist all juniors and seniors after school in the Library on Wednesday, October 22 and Thursday October 23.   Student directions have been posted under the PWCS Office 365 link.
Summer 2015 Residential Governor's School

Sophomores and juniors interested in the Summer 2015 Residential Governor's School should click here for information and applications. There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, October 14, in the OP library after school.  Students with questions or applications should give them to Mr. Black in Room 2042.  Preliminary Arts applications are due Wednesday, October 22.  Preliminary Academic and Mentorship applications are due Friday, November 7.  The selection process is highly competitive.  Click here to visit the Commonwealth’s website.
Senior Pictures

Senior Picture Makeup Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the first floor cafeteria.  This is the last senior picture makeup day.

Activity Bus Schedule

Bus Conduct and Schedules
As we begin a new school year, all students should remember that riding the school bus is a privilege. We expect that students will maintain excellent conduct in line with the Prince William County Schools Code of Behavior both in school and on the school busses. Student Parking passes will be available for 12th graders beginning August 15th.  All other students will be able to purchase parking passes at the conclusion of the first week of school.  The cost of the parking pass is $100.  Please click here to download the information and application.
